New Study: Connecting Dollars to Outcomes in Nonprofits

How do nonprofits measure impact when attempting to solve complicated issues that are influenced by civic, individual and corporate behavior beyond their organizations' control? In the last decade, watchdog agencies have introduced new metrics—some of them controversial—for nonprofit effectiveness.

One of these is Outcomes Measurement which encourages nonprofits to shift their focus from what they are doing to how they have impacted change. To unpack this topic, NetSuite approached 353 nonprofit executives to explore if and how they evaluate mission effectiveness, use logic models and correlate programs to financial metrics for dollars-to-outcomes transparency.
